About this role

Room Leader - Coogee Carr St

In my room, every day has a rhythm.

There are stories and songs.

Big feelings and tiny shoes.

Questions that start with “why.”

Paint on hands.

Friends to find.

Moments when I need someone steady to help me feel brave.

At Only About Children Coogee Carr St, that leader could be you.

We're looking for a confident, caring and organised Room Leader.

About our Coogee Carr St campus

At Coogee Carr St, I have room for big play, little discoveries and lots of imagination. The beach is close by, the community feels familiar, and my campus has a warm, busy energy that makes each day feel full of things to do. I can feel connected to Coogee life, with the coast, local streets and transport nearby.

I learn in seven indoor learning spaces and play in two outdoor areas made for children like me. I can ride, dig, climb, slide, build and pretend, with a bike track, fairy garden, slide and big sandpits where my ideas can grow. This is where I can feel safe, supported and excited to belong.

You're The Difference

At OAC, they say You're The Difference.

I think that means you help my room feel safe, kind and ready for play. You help the grown-ups know what matters, so I can settle, make friends and try new things.

About the role

I need a room where the grown-ups work together.

As Room Leader, you will guide learning, routines, safety, family communication and educator support so children's days feel calm and connected.

What you'll do

My room feels steady when you shape the rhythm of the day with calm routines and clear expectations.
My learning grows when you lead programs that follow children's interests and stretch new ideas.
My educators feel confident when you guide their planning, documentation, reflection and daily practice.
My safety stays central when you lead supervision, ratios, room routines and child safe practice.
My family feels connected when you build respectful partnerships and share my day with care.
My campus gets stronger when you contribute to QIP, audits, Responsible Person shifts and quality outcomes.

What you'll bring

A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher.
Experience leading a room or team.
Understanding of the EYLF, NQF, child safety and inclusive practice.
First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
Leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
Confidence managing room priorities, families and quality expectations.
A Working with Children Check and relevant clearance.

What we offer

OAC recognises the difference your leadership makes through above award pay, worker retention payment and recognition programs.
Your family matters too, with up to 50% childcare discount for eligible team members, paid parental leave and salary sacrifice options.
Leadership development, Grow Curriculum support and professional learning help you guide the room with confidence and care.
Your pathway can grow into Assistant Director, Educational Leader or Campus Director roles.
Education assistance, qualification support and paid study leave where eligible can help you keep developing.
OAC Rewards, Wellbeing Days, TELUS Health EAP and wellbeing resources help you feel supported as you lead.

Child safety and inclusion

I need to feel safe before I can learn, play and grow.

At OAC, child safety comes first. There is zero tolerance for child abuse and harm. Everyone who joins the team must help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive place where children have a voice, feel safe, and are valued and respected.

You will need to complete all required working with children, background and compliance checks. OAC welcomes people from all backgrounds who share this commitment.
